Successful topping out of structure of Science and Innovation Industrial Park project

Recently, the project has successfully completed the topping out of the main structure. The project has a total construction area of 72,235 square metres, including six above-ground high-rise buildings and a basement of about 10,000 square metres. Contracted by Open EPC, the project will serve as an important carrier for regional scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading after completion.

Topping Out Ceremony

At the topping-out ceremony held at the project site, leaders from the owner, the construction unit, the construction unit and the operation of the park jointly poured the last concrete, and the main body of the building hung a red banner with the words ‘Topping out for good luck’, marking the achievement of this important node.

The project team prepared a systematic construction plan, clarified the key nodes and division of labour, and shared the progress, material and personnel data in real time through the ERP management system developed by Open and the mobile phone app, so as to achieve cross-departmental and efficient coordination; at the same time, the team also increased the investment in equipment and adopted the mode of parallel operation of multiple shifts, so as to ensure that the construction links were seamlessly connected and the efficiency of the construction was greatly improved.

Demonstrating Technology by Overcoming Difficulties

Facing the challenges of small site and complex structure, the on-site project team made targeted breakthroughs:

（1）Efficient use of space: construction in phases, giving priority to the basement and the first monolithic construction; dynamic adjustment of the first floor layout, optimise the material stacking and processing area, to ensure smooth access.

（2）tower crane co-operation: reasonable planning of three tower cranes to cover the scope of the development of accurate lifting plan, ‘air transport’ to make up for the lack of space on the ground, the average daily lifting efficiency has increased dramatically.（3）Multi-structural special attack: the project has 6 monolithic buildings with four structural forms, including a concrete basement structure, two PC component structures, two box-column steel structure systems, and two shell frame structure systems. The team carried out special research, studied the structural design nodes in advance, and clarified the key practices.

The successful topping out of the project is both a milestone and a new starting point.
